Today is 7th June 2019.
Continuing my Osaka talk, with the topic this time being the JR Osaka Loop Line, which I brought up last time.
The Osaka Loop Line, revered as an artery of Osaka, and Kansai's Yamanote Line, loops around Osaka city with an entire loop taking about 45 minutes, which I thoroughly enjoyed. (Everyone should try riding the whole loop when visiting Osaka.) Interestingly, several stations on the line share the same names as certain Kirara characters, namely Nishi-Kujō (西九条, literally: West Kujō), Noda (野田) and Sakuranomiya (桜ノ宮). You can also get a blast from the past at the station called Taishō (大正), named after Taishō Bridge, built in the Taishō era.
A feature I love about the Osaka Loop Line is how it connects to other places. You can head to Universal Studios Japan, Nara, Wakayama or Kansai Airport by through service trains. No matter where you are in central Osaka, you can rest assured that you can go somewhere nearby or faraway, without having to interchange even once. (Unless accidents happen, which is a story for another day)
Another thing I love is the rolling stock. Special tribute to 3 remaining 201 series train sets, which are retiring from service today, 7th June 2019. The orange trains that run and used to run on here, with it's unique running sound, greatly symbolises the line, so it's sad to see it go. Thanks for the 13.5 years of service.
